Recap: Lupercalia 2025

What a beautiful opening to the Coventide season of 2025! In a time that feels very uncertain in many ways, this Lupercalia was a balm of sisterhood and community joy. Despite the rain and the mud, a handful of dedicated women and girls made their way to our meeting place to celebrate this rite of passage and the turning of the season. Our gathering was smaller this year than in previous years, but it certainly didn’t feel like it! We spent two hours in good company, laughing and catching up, eating and praying and performing ritual. Of course, this girls are always the most excited for the Hunt at the end of the event. No one walks away unscathed, but red stains and good memories are always a welcome part of this rite. It has been such a gift to watch these girls grow into their own and to embrace sisterhood these past few years, and this guild is excited for the women we are ushering into the community!
